Varichrome® Pro
Proven therapy that prompts the body to heal.
Introducing the Varichrome® Pro
The Varichrome® Pro helps the practitioner promote their patient's return to wellness via personalized therapy. It's like having hundreds of single-output devices.
Easy to use
-
The practitioner personalizes the therapy by adjusting the settings during therapy.
-
The practitioner stimulates the body's attention systems via the Varichrome® therapy.
-
The patient attempts to move normally for their stage of recovery while the beam is on.
-
The adjunctive therapy accelerates the healing process.
The practitioner now has access to wavelengths throughout the visible spectrum. The gentle beam of selected photons prompts the return of balance and normal healing.
The Basics
Patients often exhibit limitations to movement after a stroke or spinal cord injury. The phenomena for some patients may be "learned non-use" coined by Edward Taub, PhD, that responds to repetitive training. Unfortunately, the progress may plateau and training stops. The patient's family often remains intimately involved in the person's activities of daily living.
The Varichrome® therapy redirects attention to the area to help push the patient past the plateau. Intentional movement during therapy may accelerate the relearning process. The therapy can be used as part of a constraint induced movement therapy (CIMT) or used without the constraint components.

The practitioner can apply different wavelengths to find the ones that "work". The feedback typically occurs during the exercise. Patient's spontaneously report that it is easier to move while the light is on. The result is easy to document via before/after videos. PhotoMed's team took multi-camera real-time recordings to make the therapy more efficient. The practitioner can get started the first day. About 2 hours of interactive training via Zoom fills in the details specific to this form of physical rehabilitation.
Unlearning "learned non-use" types of limited movement
"Margaret" became quadriplegic at 83 after an auto accident on her way to church. About 2 years had passed and PT for her left hand had stalled in a clenched fist.

Varichrome® therapy helped to loosen her fingers and become responsive to her intentions.
Curiously, at first her finger moved in the direction opposite of her intentions.
With the Varichrome® therapy applied, the coordination was restored within a few minutes of intentional movement following or against the technician's finger movements.

Unfortunately, Covid 19 stopped the visits. The good news is that the resumed functioning of Margaret's hands continued.
Versatility to meet ever-changing challenges
The problem of "learned non-use" may be more pervasive that thought. The practitioner now has a tool that may accelerate healing that surprises the patient. The Varichrome® therapy isn't a stand-alone therapy. It's another tool in the practitioner's toolbox for use at the right time.
The access to different wavelengths makes the Varichrome® Pro a go-to device when progress begins to plateau.
For example, both #1 and #2 have been shown to help relax muscles and to prompt re-coordination of movement. Which range works fastest? The practitioner and patient can find out in about a minute of trying each. Just turn the Preset Selection knob.
For pain associated with immobility and relearning to move, the patient can tell the practitioner which they prefer; #3 or #4.
This chart shows the utility of different wavelength ranges documented over the past 150 years. However, the healing systems work like customers at a buffet restaurant by taking the wavelengths they need, one or a few at a time.
For muscle knots, start with #2. Iron out a series of knots in minutes. Enjoy the patient's expressions when the try to find the next knot.
Think coordination rather than relaxation
Many therapies aim to prompt relaxation. That's great for releasing contractions.
The Varichrome® Therapy aims to prompt the return of coordinated movement adjunctive to the practitioner's methods. 2 visits are generally enough to learn if the specific impairment may be addressed.
Like with other therapies, you have to try it to learn if the patient responds. The practitioner can now test 1000s of combinations in minutes. That's efficiency.
Only with the Varichrome® Pro.
For the hands-on practitioner, the Varichrome® Pro is an adjunctive tool to accelerate healing. The initial responses usually occur during the 1st or 2nd visit. Additional visits will likely be needed to maximize or refresh improvements.
