PhotoMed Technologies Thanks Investigators

PDS 400® Variable Wavelength Protocols Development Study

KENSINGTON, California—May 19, 2011—PhotoMed Technologies is pleased with the preliminary findings of its recently closed study. The company's founder and CEO, Allan Gardiner, wants to thank the participating subjects for their contributions in the development of new protocols. He especially wants to thank the subjects having intractable pain that the investigational therapy was not able to address.

The company would like to thank its primary investigators, Richard L. Smith, M.D. and Douglas DeSalvo, D.C., for their contributions to the development of new protocols and to the development of the company's Study Management System.

PhotoMed’s PDS 400® investigational light therapy device is the most versatile light therapy device on the market; it can produce any wavelength in the visible spectrum (400-700 nm), and also allows practitioners to set its pulse frequency, brightness, and other variables. The PDS 400® is completely non-invasive and has no known side effects.

The Study Management System integrates protocol selection, thermal imaging, and electronic medical records with real-time data presentation from devices. This study helped us test the user interface that allows the practitioner to manage the entire patient-visit and study from a single screen. With everything they need close at hand and easy to access, practitioners can concentrate on their patients instead of wasting time dealing with paper and isolated devices.

Please check back soon to learn about our next investigation for therapeutic protocol development focusing on improving sympathetic modulation of temperature in the painful area. The study will be exploring how improved temperature regulation predicts durable pain relief in complex regional pain syndrome, diabetic neuropathy, and other intractable conditions.

The company is seeking investigators for the next study.
